Tis the Season for Corvette Nation!

Filming for Corvette Nation Season #2

On location at the National Corvette Museum for a weekend of fun and shooting for Corvette Nation seaton #2 on Velocity!  I love working with my 2 fabulous co-hosts, Bill Stephens and Michael Brown.  We have a great working relationship and it shows throughout our episodes.  There was a lot going on, as it was the Museum's 20th Anniversary, and the opening of their new motorsports park.  It was also the weekend where over 8000 corvettes caravaned to the museum for a weekend of fun festivities.  People came from all over the country, and I was lucky enough to meet and get to know a lot of them.  These folks are why are show works.  They are the people behind America's greatest sports car, and they are one big family, and I am blessed to be a part of it.

Firefighters at their Best.

Firefighter Combat Challenge - World Championships!

500 + of the fittest firegithers in the world come together for 1 week every year for the World Championships of the Combat Challenge.  What's the Combat Challenge? Well, it's been deemed the toughest 2 minutes in sports, and after covering the challenge for year now, I know why first hand.  These men and women not only serve their communities, but they do it while training to be in the best possible shape of their lives.  They compete thorughout regional competitions all year, then try to become the best in the world come November of each year.  This past year, we covered the competition for CBS Sports and it was fantastic!  It's a great event with great people and their families who come cheer them on.  I've made lifelong friends, and it definitely gets me in shape when I know I have to go cover these amazing athletes.  Muscles anyone??? Yeah!

Yes, another rodeo.

The Snake River Stampede

It's over 100 degrees and I find myself in jeans and boots.  You gotta love the rodeo! Thank goodness the stampede is indoors!  I am in Nampa, Idaho, (just outside of Boise, Idaho if you are not familiar), for one of the best rodeos around.  And one of the oldest! Turning 98 this year! Besides the great rodeo, I am actually here for an audio session for our ESPNU broadcast of the College National Finals Rodeo.  I am working with two of the greatest rodeo announcers in the world, Bob Tallman and Boyd Polhamus.  The session went great and the shows look terrific! First air date is Saturday, August 17th on ESPNU, where yours truly will be interviewing all of the college champions.  Let's get ready to rodeo!

All the way from Maui, Hawaii!

Yes, it's time for a little R & R!

Yes, I'm writing from the beautiful beaches of Kihei, Maui, Hawaii.  It just happens to be one of my favorite places on earth.  Kihei is on the southern side of the island of Maui and is known as the 'dry' side of the Island.  Yes, there is a wet side to Maui...who knew??  I am very lucky as I have been to Maui on several occasions.  But this time was different, as I got to spend it with my entire family and also show my boyfriend parts of the island that I hadn't seen in a very long time.  The road to Hana is WELL worth the many curves to get there.  The beauty was overwhelming.  I also spent a ton of time in the water, playing in the waves, body surfing and boogie boarding.  I got the chance to rest and relax and revive before the rest of my busy busy summer!  Cheers and let's go!!

College National Finals Rodeo

CNFR Championships - ESPNU

It's time for the College National Finals Rodeo! One of my favorite times of the year is when I spend 10 days in the town of Casper, Wyoming producing and hosting a telecast for ESPNU.  I've been involved in college rodeo for a few years now and there is not a greater group of people who I am fortunate enough to call colleagues as well as good friends. And what a great bunch of college athletes! It's great to see today's youth work so hard for what they love to do...all while attending college and preparing themselves for a bright future.  And I can't thank the town of Casper enough.  They open their arms wide and are a terrific host for the college rodeo.  Be sure to watch the broadcasts on August 16th & 17th on ESPNU! Check your local listings.  Can I get a yee-haw?!?!
